In this talk on the theology of the Catholic Mass, I talk about the theology, meaning, and mystery of ‘prayer postures’ at the Catholic Mass. Throughout the Eucharistic Prayers and during the ‘Our Father Prayer’ in particular, the validity of the entire memorial sacrifice is at risk when the laity repeats and imitates prayers and prayer gestures reserved to the celebrant priest alone as praying in the orans posture individually or while holding hands. This abuse needs to end.
